What is BAS

BAS is an entertainment management platform that provides different solutions for artists.

Our mission is to support professionals together with organizations with an integrated software program, services and appropriate information- in order for artists to fully realize their work. BAS is dedicated to empower and educate artists so that they can develop sustainable and successful careers on their own terms.

Why we built BAS

BAS has been on a Mission to support Tanzanian artists for many years. Professional artists put time, money, sweat, and tears into their work, but at the end of the day, their work isn’t fully protected. We plan to introduce smart Insurance plans for artists, in order to protect their careers and well being.

In partnership with BASATA (National Artists Council), National Insurance Corporation (NIC), National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), Copyright society of Tanzania (COSOTA), Ministry of Information Culture Arts and Sports, Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children, we plan on hosting a one of a kind summit dubbed the Bongo Artists’ Summit (BAS). Additionally, we have a program called BAS that is developed for the purpose of supporting and empowering artists. In this program, one of the services that we offer, are various, flexible insurances packages.

BAS holds the umbrella of insurance needs for artists countrywide. With a well-planned program designed to be affordable, reasonable, practical, and user-friendly insurance packages.

How we built artist insurance

Together with government insurance companies, namely being NIC and NHIF, BAS acts as a broker between the two insurance companies whereby all artists registered under BASATA will use BAS as its medium of getting the insurance cover and additional tools that will empower their careers. We will continue to raise funds through all kinds of stakeholders that deal with Bongo Artists such as, Communication Companies, Content Apps Companies, Politicians and media houses. Working hand in hand with our partners, we will have a one card system that will feature two or more types of insurances, namely Life insurance and health insurance, or Life insurance, health Insurance and disaster insurance, thus creating a system that is manageable and easy to use. We plan to coordinate with our partners, to ensure that we continue supplying packages that will be affordable to artists and cater to their needs.

Our key insurance partners: National Insurance Corporation (NIC) and National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF)

Why choose BAS?

BAS cares for the artist’s well being. Over many decades, we have witnessed many good artists with a lot of potential give up on their profession, due to the luck of guidance and support. We promise to always offer the best and most effective insurance plan rates. Being partners with the biggest insurers in Tanzania who are already handling a wide range of lower to middle class income members of the society highlights our intentions of offering the most affordable prices for our artists.

We plan to set a good foundation for all Bongo Artists by educating, promoting and giving them the appropriate tools to improve their artistry.

The 4 Days Summit

The BAS team (together with our partners) is planning to make The Bongo Artist Summit a continuous event over the years to come, to serve as a reminder of how important it is for individuals to always be ensured. We will also provide our partners and sponsors naming and partnership rights in our advertisements and other media activities. NHIF and NIC are responsible in facilitating the Summit and formulating affordable combined insurance packages. Towards our goal, we want to work hand in hand in the many years to come through Bongo Artists Summit. Our Summit will run for Four Days being Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This Summit is designed for arts and entertainment industries, being: Bongo Flavor Artists, Gospel Artists, Film Artists, Traditional Music Artists, Arts & Craft Artists and etc. The given 4 days are dedicated to entertain, explore and educate all the vital aspects about the insurances that we will be issuing to artists.

We will also educate people about Tech & Innovation, Intellectual Property, royalties, celebrity interviews, breakout sessions and workshops. Additionally, we will be providing keynotes to all invitees.

Our long-term plan is to provide tools and knowledge that will build artists’ long-term career profiles for their respective industries. Over the coming years, we will place artists face to face with the forward-thinkers who shape the entertainment industry in general, in order for them to realize their capabilities and be exposed different kinds of positive possibilities.
